James Griffiths

He was born in Castleford 1892 and he lived at 34 Castle Avenue, Canklow, Rotherham with his parents Thomas and Mary Anne. He was a miner.

He enlisted in Attercliffe during December 1914, into the 3rd battalion Durham Light Infantry service number 22629.

He died of natural causes (abscess & meningitis) on 1 March 1915, aged 22, during training at Barnard Castle and is buried in Moorgate cemetery.
